From a Tolkien based story with Original Characters

“I hate Father!” She told her maid as she entered her mother’s tent. Her mother was her father’s first and favored wife, but even she was a lowly woman. The maid said nothing, having heard the same every day for as long as Yusraa could talk.

“Daughter! What has he done now?”

“He won’t let me race my horse with the others.”

“You are a girl. You know that is the way of our people.”

“I am the best rider in the entire desert! Not one of my brothers can beat me in a race, nor can they shoot as well as I can!”

“We do not go to war with our men!”

“Then WE are fools!”

“Yusraa, you will never change your father. Believe me. I have tried.”

“Then why do you stay with him?”

“Where would I go? This is my home.”

“I do not want to spend my life sitting in a tent being fat and lazy like father’s other wives and daughters. I want to ride, to see faraway places!”
